Airports and AirlinesUdine is served by the following airports:
Having the above three major airports around Udine not only results in great international connections in general, but there are some exceptional price-conscious options starting at under EUR 20.00 per leg, for example direct flights with the UK (which is a two-hour flight from London or Bristol), Germany (slightly more than one hour from Köln/Bonn, Hannover, Frankfurt or München), Paris, Brussels, etc. In addition to considering the information on this page, we recommend that you start from the list of the three destination airports (TRS, VCE, TSF), and then cross-check the websites of these airports and of your local airports for up-to-date airlines and offerings. TRS is next door, but VCE and TSF have good train connections to Udine. Low Fare SpecialsRyanair (to TRS or TSF), easyJet (to VCE) and Brussels Airlines offer excellent value flights to and from the UK, Belgium and other European countries. With Ryanair you can sometimes get a ticket from London Stansted (STN) to TRS or TSF for no more than GBP 1.79 per leg (plus taxes). easyJet also flies from Bristol (BRS) to VCE. Ryanair flies to TRS from London Stansted (STN). It also flies between TSF and Barcelona Girona (GRO), Bremen (BRE), Brussels Charleroi (CRL), Dublin (DUB), Düsseldorf Weeze (NRN) Frankfurt Hahn (HHN), Liverpool (LPL), London Stansted (STN), Paris Beauvais (BVA), Rome Ciampino (CIA), Shannon (SNN), and Stockholm Skavsta (NYO). MyAir flies to VCE from Barcelona (BCN), Bucharest (BBU), Crete (HER), Ibiza (IBZ), Madrid (MAD), Paris Orly (ORY) and Rhodes (RHO). These are available starting from EUR 6.00 per leg (plus taxes). Germany has great budget-conscious flights to VCE through Germanwings (from Köln/Bonn, CGN) and Hapag-Lloyd Express (from CGN and Hannover, HAJ). Wind Jet connects VCE with Oslo (OSL) and Barcelona (BCN). JetX (Island) connects TRS with Paris Beauvais (BVA), Athens (ATH) and Olbia (OLB). Transavia connects Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) with TSF. If you fly Ryanair or one of the other low fare airlines keep in mind that they do well what they say they do, but they are not structured to do much else (unless you pay for it, e.g. drinks or meals): you must be punctual at the gate unlike with any other airline, and if you manually assemble a multiple-leg journey you must purchase separate tickets for each leg and pick up and check in your baggage yourself at each transit airport (e.g. at London Stansted). That's what you get when you pay only GBP 4.99 to fly Oslo-Stansted and another GBP 4.99 for Stansted-Udine. If you have other airline tips from different countries, please let us know. Standard InternationalWe recommend Lufthansa/SAS (Star Alliance, which includes United Air Lines) for best European connections (to TRS or VCE). Lufthansa flies to TRS via Munich (MUC) and to VCE via MUC and Frankfurt (FRA), with some flights operated by Air Dolomiti. Alitalia flies to both TRS and VCE. British Airways, KLM and SN Brussels Airlines fly to VCE. AlpiEagles connects VCE with Athens and Barcelona. Jat Airways connects TRS with Belgrade. You may want to check the above airport sites for information about additional airlines and connections (e.g. regular charter flights flights to and from Moscow, Bucharest, etc.) Within ItalyWithin Italy:
We normally recommend faster trains over flights between Milan and Udine, however if you already are at a Milan airport then taking another flight may be more efficient.
